1. About Gecko Beads

Window displayHello, all you beaders! I’m Marja Veldhoen,  owner of Gecko beads. I started making  jewellry as a hobby. It wasn’t too far removed, creatively from my job then, as a graphic designer. I was always into art and nature, so, my bead store leans to the nature side of life.

I started making lampwork beads about ten years ago after stumbling on the book “How to Make Glass Beads” by Cindy Jenkins. I had a wonderful fun time and soon decided that a bead store was the way to go.

Amenite Gecko beads is in the village of St. Jacobs (Ontario),  It never would have been possible without the help of supportive friends and family and a wonderful staff.

I am always looking for new and out of the ordinary beads. It’s as exciting as looking for buried treasure.
